Personality Pair

Personality Pair: Parent-Teen

A shared map comparing your existing results on ten dimensions, for a parent and teen, speaking to each role.

A short experience for a parent and their teenager, aged 13 to 17, who choose together to understand how to communicate better at home. There is no new questionnaire to fill out. Your existing results from the Zayenha core and applied analyses are compared across ten communication style dimensions, and you both receive a shared map with a paragraph for each dimension that speaks to the parent and to the teenager by role, using everyday situations such as homework, curfew and pocket money, after the consent of the parent as guardian and the assent of the teenager themselves. Paid once by the inviting party, and includes inviting the other party and their consent. A descriptive analysis of how you communicate as a family, not a diagnosis or a judgement of either of you.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this tool and the free compatibility tests found online?

Free compatibility tests usually ask a few new questions and instantly output a number with no clear basis. The Parent-Teen tool asks you nothing new. It compares results you have already measured with the Zayenha core and applied analyses, rests on a recognized framework, gradual autonomy granting, does not output a reduced percentage, and does not describe your son or daughter with a fixed pattern.

How accurate is this comparison, and what are the ten dimensions?

The ten dimensions, as they appear in the report, are: Decision Speed, Detail Level, Independence Need, Direct Communication, Reaction to Critical Feedback, Pace, Approach to Disagreement, Response to Pressure, Role Distribution, and Information Needs. The comparison is an uncalibrated operational description of how your styles meet in everyday communication. It does not predict the future of your relationship, and its limit is that it reads what your existing results showed, not what actually happens between you. Each dimension is only as accurate as its source, so if either source is weak, the confidence level shown is lowered openly. Role Distribution reads differently from the rest: one of you leaning toward taking the lead and the other toward backing up is the flow state there, while two matching tendencies are shown as friction, because they can mean a tug of war over decisions or hesitation to settle them.

Who benefits from this tool specifically?

A parent and their teenager, aged 13 to 17, who talk regularly, with both willing. It is especially useful when disagreements keep coming back about limits or about the way you talk at home, not when either of you is unwilling to take part.

How long does each of you need, and when does the result need an update?

A few minutes to review the map once both of you have consented. Applied dimension sources, such as communication style, usually stay relevant for about 12 months, and core trait sources for about 24 months; after that the result is shown with a lower confidence level. An earlier update may be recommended since teenagers change quickly at this stage.

What happens after the report?

You both get a shared map with a paragraph for each dimension that speaks to the parent and to the teenager, with a suggested line for each of you to use in a real situation, and neither of you sees the raw scores of the other. Repeating the comparison after about 12 months, or sooner with a noticeable change, is recommended. Where available, you can test the approach in a realistic conversation simulation.

Can the comparison be repeated, and when is that recommended?

Yes. Repeating the comparison is recommended after about 12 months, or sooner with any noticeable change in the development of the teenager, or after a disagreement worth revisiting.

Does the other person see my full profile or my raw scores?

No. Neither of you sees the raw scores of the other. You both see the same shared report: each dimension described as flow, friction or neutral, and a paragraph for each dimension that speaks to the parent and to the teenager, without revealing either of your scores to the other.

What happens if one of us withdraws or revokes consent after starting?

The report is hidden from both of you immediately from the moment of withdrawal, whether the parent withdraws their consent or the teenager withdraws their assent. No profile is built about anyone without their ongoing consent, and the teenager is not asked to justify withdrawing.

Does my teenager need a separate consent, or is my consent enough?

Yes. Your consent as guardian alone is not enough to start the experience. Two separate consents are required: yours, and an independent assent from the teenager themselves, given after they see their own disclosure screen and confirm their age. The experience does not begin until both are complete, and the teenager can withdraw their assent at any time, independently of you.
