Replay: Conflict
A session rebuilding a real conflict with one person, with your alternative reply evaluated.
This session reconstructs a real conflict with one counterpart and helps you write an alternative response that is clearer, less escalatory, and better able to define a workable shared problem. The system does not turn the other person into a fixed type or invent an extended dialogue in their name. Narrowing the conflict, drafting an alternative response, and reviewing a shared next step usually takes about 9 to 16 minutes, depending on how many issues need to be separated from the core dispute.
What's included
- Analysis starts from a conflict you actually remember and prevents adding history or motives that were not recorded in the card.
- The rubric focuses on issue clarity, assertiveness, de escalation, recall integrity, and framing a workable shared problem.
- Any projection of the other person's reaction remains a bounded possibility with cautious to moderate confidence and never becomes a permanent description of personality.
- You can compare how your approach to containing conflict and building a shared next step changes across rubric compatible attempts.
- The result is framed as development space in the alternative response without issuing a final judgment about who was right in the real conflict.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this tool and just replaying the situation in my own head?
Mental replay can keep returning to who was wrong. Here the focus moves to what you write now and how that response can become clearer and less escalatory.
How accurate/reliable is the evaluation of my alternative response?
The evaluation measures the alternative response against specific behavioral criteria. It does not decide who was right or claim knowledge of the other person inner motives.
Who specifically benefits from this exercise?
It is useful for someone who wants better handling of a real conflict with one counterpart through clarity, assertiveness, de escalation, and a practical next step.
How long does building the situation and evaluating the alternative response take?
A conflict centered on one issue may take about 9 minutes to revisit, while the work can reach 16 minutes when side issues must be separated or the shared problem and next step need reframing.
What do I do with my result?
Use the result to change one element, such as narrowing the issue, removing escalatory wording, or adding a shared next step, then retry when there is genuine new learning.
Can I retry the same situation?
Yes. You can retry, and from the third attempt onward a written reflection is required to explain what changed in your understanding of the conflict. Each session credit covers one situation card with up to 5 evaluated attempts.
Is what I recount about the situation treated as established fact, or as my own memory of it?
Your account is treated as your personal memory of the conflict, not as complete objective fact. The memory fidelity flag shows how much caution is appropriate based on the time since the event.
Will the app tell me what the other party would actually have said or done?
No. In a conflict with one counterpart, the tool may offer only one bounded possibility for that person reaction, with cautious to moderate confidence and only from your account, without extended dialogue or permanent type labeling.
What if revisiting this situation is psychologically distressing for me?
If two or more approved distress indicators are detected while the conflict is being revisited, evaluation stops and referral to Soul comes before any further analysis of the event. The session is not used to diagnose you or the other person.
Does a low score mean I failed to handle the real situation?
No. A low score points to aspects of the alternative response that can be developed. It is not a final judgment about the real conflict or your character.
