Simulation: Dominant Colleague

A live simulation with a colleague who keeps interrupting, scored by an independent evaluator.

A live conversational simulation with a same-level colleague who tends to impose their opinion through repeated interruption and dismissing your alternatives -- they hold no real managerial authority over you, but their style will consume your space in the discussion unless you reclaim it clearly. They escalate or calm down based on your own replies according to a pre-documented ladder. You choose a difficulty level, and your full session is scored by an evaluator fully independent of the persona you spoke with.

Goals:
- Practice reclaiming the floor with a clear, respectful phrase when repeatedly interrupted.
- Hold your position with professional firmness without sliding into personal confrontation and without total capitulation that costs you your space.
- State a clear boundary (your scope of responsibility in a task or decision) and maintain it through the end of the session.

Who this is for: Anyone working on a team with a same-level colleague who tends to dominate discussions and interrupt, and who feels they lose their space or automatically concede their opinion to avoid friction -- and wants to practice reclaiming the conversation and protecting their boundaries without escalating conflict.

Expected duration: Between 6 and 40 conversational turns depending on the difficulty level you choose (training/standard: minimum 6 turns; exam: minimum 8) -- most sessions in practice take between 10 and 20 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between this simulation and a real situation or traditional corporate training?

There is no real career risk -- the conversation is entirely simulated, and the simulated colleague holds no real managerial authority over you no matter how dominant they become (see the transparency question below). And unlike role-play with a real colleague, the simulated persona follows a pre-documented escalation ladder instead of free improvisation, and your session is scored by an independent evaluator citing evidence from your own words -- not a general verbal comment from a facilitator that may vary from one session to the next.

How accurate/reliable is the automated evaluator's assessment?

This is measured against two strict standards before any real session opens to users: the evaluator must agree with itself when re-scoring the same session transcript, and its judgment must agree with an independent human expert's assessment on a calibration set of at least thirty real sessions spanning clear passes, borderline cases, and clear fails. This calibration is mandatory and has not been completed yet -- real sessions will not open to users before it is passed, and its results will be published transparently once complete.

Who specifically benefits from this training?

Anyone working on a team with a same-level colleague who tends to dominate discussions and interrupt, and who feels they lose their space or automatically concede their opinion to avoid friction -- and wants to practice reclaiming the conversation and protecting their boundaries without escalating conflict.

How long does a session take?

Between 6 and 40 conversational turns depending on the difficulty level you choose -- most sessions in practice take between 10 and 20 minutes.

What do I do after the session?

You get a debrief with exactly 3 to 6 indicators, each with a score (0 to 3) and a literal quote from your own words explaining exactly why that score was given, plus one thing that worked and one specific next step to work on. It is not a final verdict on who you are -- it is a practical behavioral recommendation to build on in your next attempt or in a similar real situation.

Can I retry? And why might my result differ?

Yes. In training mode you can retry the same scenario to learn; in test mode an equivalent (not identical) scenario version is used, to prevent memorizing answers instead of developing real skill. Your result may differ because the conversation is genuinely live -- your own replies drive whether the colleague dominates or backs off each time, not a pre-fixed script.

Is the character I'm talking to a real human or artificial intelligence?

Fully artificial intelligence. The dominant colleague is a simulated persona with a pre-documented trait profile and escalation ladder -- there is no real human behind the screen at any point in the session, and no real effect on your relationship with any actual colleague at your job.

Is my conversation or voice used for other purposes or shared with a third party?

By this product's design, your session text is used exclusively to generate your evaluation (debrief) and to make it available to you later for review (replay) -- it is not shared with any third party outside the platform. This is an approved design commitment that will be enforced when the runtime engines are built, and it will be live-verified before real sessions open to users.

What if I disagree with a score or a quote in my evaluation?

Every score in your evaluation is tied to a literal quote from your own session text -- you can always review the quote and check it yourself. If you believe a quote is inaccurate or a score doesn't reflect what you actually said, your evaluation is not a final closed verdict -- the product is designed to carry an appeal path, and its details will be published once real sessions open.

Does this session's result grant me an interaction license directly?

No. This session produces a scorecard for one scenario only -- scores, evidence, and a pass/not-pass decision against that scenario's specific threshold. A verifiable interaction license (a credential you can check via a code/link) requires accumulating multiple qualifying sessions across multiple products within the separate Interaction Licenses family -- it is not granted directly from a single session here.
