Simulation: Receiving Hard Feedback
A live simulation where you receive hard feedback, scored by an independent evaluator.
A live conversational simulation where the simulated persona -- not you -- initiates a piece of tough feedback directed at you. The governing skill here is how you receive it, not how you initiate: do you listen without defensiveness, genuinely examine the note's content, ask real clarifying questions, regulate its emotional impact, and commit to a concrete action? The persona escalates or calms down based on how you receive it according to a pre-documented ladder, not free improvisation. Your full session is scored by an evaluator fully independent of the persona you spoke with.
Goals:
- Practice receiving direct criticism without an immediate defensive reaction (repeated justification, counter-accusation) at the first note.
- Genuinely examine the note's content and ask real clarifying questions before responding, instead of rejecting or accepting it instantly without understanding.
- Calmly regulate the emotional impact of the criticism without denial or collapse, and commit to a specific improvement step instead of a purely theoretical discussion.
Who this is for: Anyone who expects to receive direct criticism touching their performance or style -- from a colleague, a manager, or a work partner -- especially someone who tends toward immediate defensiveness or finds it hard to separate their feelings from the note's content, and wants to practice genuine openness and commitment to action before a real, sensitive moment.
Expected duration: Between 6 and 40 conversational turns depending on the difficulty level you choose (training/standard: minimum 6 turns; exam: minimum 8) -- most sessions in practice take between 10 and 20 minutes.
What's included

- A judgment independent of the character you spoke with
- A literal quoted piece of evidence behind every score, not a vague verdict

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this simulation and a real situation or traditional corporate training?
There is no real career risk -- the conversation is entirely simulated and can never end in an actual employment action, no matter how blunt the criticism becomes (see the transparency question below). And unlike role-play with a colleague, the persona follows a pre-documented escalation ladder that scales with how you receive it, and your session is scored by an independent evaluator citing evidence from your own words -- not a general verbal comment from a human facilitator that may vary from one session to the next.
How accurate/reliable is the automated evaluator's assessment?
This is measured against two strict standards before any real session opens to users: the evaluator must agree with itself when re-scoring the same session transcript, and its judgment must agree with an independent human expert's assessment on a calibration set of at least thirty real sessions spanning clear passes, borderline cases, and clear fails. This calibration is mandatory and has not been completed yet -- real sessions will not open to users before it is passed, and its results will be published transparently once complete.
Who specifically benefits from this training?
Anyone who expects to receive direct criticism touching their performance or style, especially someone who tends toward immediate defensiveness or finds it hard to separate their feelings from the note's content, and wants to practice genuine openness and commitment to action before a real, sensitive moment.
How long does a session take?
Between 6 and 40 conversational turns depending on the difficulty level you choose -- most sessions in practice take between 10 and 20 minutes.
What do I do after the session?
You get a debrief with exactly 3 to 6 indicators, each with a score (0 to 3) and a literal quote from your own words explaining exactly why that score was given, plus one thing that worked and one specific next step to work on. It is not a final verdict on who you are -- it is a practical behavioral recommendation to build on in your next attempt or in a similar real situation.
Can I retry? And why might my result differ?
Yes. In training mode you can retry the same scenario to learn; in test mode an equivalent (not identical) scenario version is used, to prevent memorizing saved responses instead of developing real receiving skill. Your result may differ because the conversation is genuinely live -- how you receive it drives whether the persona escalates or calms down each time, not a pre-fixed script.
Is the character I'm talking to a real human or artificial intelligence?
Fully artificial intelligence. The party initiating the feedback is a simulated persona with a pre-documented trait profile and escalation ladder -- there is no real human behind the screen at any point in the session, and no real employment action is ever taken no matter how far the escalation goes.
Is my conversation or voice used for other purposes or shared with a third party?
By this product's design, your session text is used exclusively to generate your evaluation (debrief) and to make it available to you later for review (replay) -- it is not shared with any third party outside the platform. This is an approved design commitment that will be enforced when the runtime engines are built, and it will be live-verified before real sessions open to users.
What if I disagree with a score or a quote in my evaluation?
Every score in your evaluation is tied to a literal quote from your own session text -- you can always review the quote and check it yourself. If you believe a quote is inaccurate or a score doesn't reflect what you actually said, your evaluation is not a final closed verdict -- the product is designed to carry an appeal path, and its details will be published once real sessions open.
Does this session's result grant me an interaction license directly?
No. This session produces a scorecard for one scenario only -- scores, evidence, and a pass/not-pass decision against that scenario's specific threshold. A verifiable interaction license (a credential you can check via a code/link) requires accumulating multiple qualifying sessions across multiple products within the separate Interaction Licenses family -- it is not granted directly from a single session here.
