Desired Personality

Social Confidence Goal

A 90-day training programme from social avoidance to initiative that suits you, with weekly check-ins.

From mild, moderate, or extensive social avoidance (as long as it does not get in the way of your work and studies) to social initiative that fits your actual starting point. A 90-day behavioral training program that starts with a short baseline (under 10 minutes) to place you on the right branch, with weekly check-ins and a re-baseline after at least 21 days. A behavior-development tool, not a diagnosis.

Frequently asked questions

How does the program gauge how strongly I avoid social situations and choose my branch?

Your baseline measures a single axis, social initiative, reflecting your actual initiative across varied social situations. Your result places you in one of three branches: mild avoidance (starting with an observation phase and then steps with familiar people, with a faster climb), moderate (a lower start), or extensive (deliberately starting at the smallest possible steps). The final target for all branches is the same: reducing avoidance and increasing initiative.

Does this program change my core personality, or does it train a specific behavior within it?

It trains a specific behavior, your initiative in social situations, and it does not change your core personality. Research on behavior training generally suggests that repeated conscious practice may gradually increase how often a specific behavior occurs, but the effectiveness of this particular program has not been measured yet. You will not become a person of a different nature; you will remain yourself, with an ability to initiate that may become clearer when you genuinely want to.

How long does the program take, and when will I start to see a tangible effect?

Baseline takes under 10 minutes. The full program runs 90 days. The first phase of your branch starts from day one, the habit-formation checkpoint arrives around day 60-70, and the first re-baseline is not shown before at least day 21. We do not know when you will notice a tangible effect; it differs from person to person and is best noticed through your weekly check-ins.

How accurate and scientifically reliable is this program, and how much real change can I expect?

The baseline item bank is an internal, simplified design that has not been statistically calibrated yet, and the cut-offs that place you in a branch are provisional; treat its result as early guidance, not a formal measurement verdict. We also do not know the size of the change the program will make for you, because its effectiveness itself has not been measured on its users yet, and there is no promise of complete transformation.

Who exactly benefits from this program, and who is it not suited for?

It suits anyone who feels a practical gap between wanting social interaction and what they actually do, at any avoidance degree from mild to extensive, and the exposure ladder adapts to your actual severity. It does not suit someone whose social avoidance reaches the point of being unable to go to work or school, comes with repeated physical panic episodes, or is tied to a real experience of abuse or trauma, those situations need real specialized support instead of or alongside the self-directed program, and this screening standard is stated explicitly at the start of each of the programs three branches.

What if I stop or miss a week: do I lose my progress?

No. Missing a full week is not a failure — specific recovery scenarios await you in non-punitive language, guiding you back to the phase you were in, or to a lighter step within it depending on what you can handle, not to zero. A lapse is an expected part of any extended behavioral intervention, and managing it is part of the program itself, not something outside it.

How is my real progress measured, and what is the difference between genuine improvement and a passing fluctuation?

Through comparing your first baseline against a re-baseline measurement not shown before at least 21 days from the start of the program. No reliable threshold for change is available at the moment because the item bank has not been statistically calibrated yet; so read small differences as an early signal, not a verdict, and rely alongside them on your weekly check-ins.

Can I add another goal from the family later?

Yes — each of the six ready-made goals (including this one) is an independent, standalone program, and you can purchase and start another goal later as a separate program. If you want to combine two or more skills into one interleaved track from the start instead of sequencing them, the Desired Personality Builder is designed specifically for that — it lets you choose 1 to 3 goals managed together in a single program.
